Canadian update
Congratulations to Gail Lange on receiving the Creating Learning Community Award!
Congratulations to Lauren Taylor on receiving a Distinguished Young Teacher Award!
SMMC hosted two successful hybrid meetings at this year's conference. We counted 27 Canadian teachers present; great to meet some Nova Scotia colleagues! Thank you to Robert Richardson for representing Canada on the Conference Committee and for helping run such a successful conference. A large number of Canadians gave presentations on topics from leadership to SECE to instrumental specific sessions and beyond. Canadian students played in the orchestra, performing at the Final Concert after only two days of rehearsal.
Canadian Presenters: Debbie Hammond, Mary-Elizabeth Brown, Liz Biswas, Diana Nuttall, Merlin Thompson, Sharon Jones, Wan Tsai Chen, Geneviève Schirm-Joyce, Rachel Gauntlett, Kelly Williamson, Liz Biswas, Kelly Parkins-Lindstrom. Gail Lange was part of the Piano Committee for the Conference and co-coached participating students in their ensembles.

La SMMC a organisé deux réunions hybrides réussies lors de la conférence. Nous avons compté 27 professeurs canadiens présents; c'est un plaisir de rencontrer des collègues de Nouvelle-Écosse! Merci à Robert Richardson d'avoir représenté le Canada au sein du comité de la conférence et d'avoir contribué à l'organisation d'une conférence aussi réussie. Un grand nombre de Canadiens ont fait des présentations sur des sujets allant du leadership au SECE en passant par des sessions spécifiques aux instruments et bien plus encore. Des étudiants canadiens ont joué dans l'orchestre et se sont produits lors du Concert final après seulement deux jours de répétition.
